A multifarious project, How to Teach Yourself to Swim started as a small handmade book that incorporated text from a 1903 Little Blue Book of the same name. It is a dense prose-poetic narrative about living, breathing, moving, swimming, and diving. The project became a sprawling autobiographical blog that enfolded academic musings on institutional learning, and eventually became a visual performance that incorporated images to accompany the reading of the poem. The same images are interspersed on translucent vellum throughout the book. Measures 4″ x 4″. Craft Paper, Vellum, and Mohawk Via stock. Letterpress and digital. 12pp. Edition of 120.
