8 Poems: Richard Tuttle — Tuttle’s first book of poetry — is a collaboration between Tuttle, Richard Kegler, and Chris Fritton produced under the imprint of Mohawk Press.
The book measures 3.5″ x 5.5″ and it features a foil-stamped cover as well as unique endpapers composed of handmade paper castings made from woodblocks; it contains eight pages, each with a single letterpress-printed poem and a portion of a “continuous line” conceived by the artist that undulates throughout the book. It was hand-sewn and bound in an edition of 200.
The book was authored and the woodblocks were carved by Richard Tuttle; the line and layout were designed by Richard Kegler, and the foil stamping, paper casting, pigmenting, printing, and binding were done by Chris Fritton. See a rough process video here.
